Christian Horner

  • Describe your classroom experience with teaching AP Physics 1.

I've been teaching physics for 26 years and have grown to understand the best way to LEARN physics is to DO physics! I completed Modeling Physics training years ago and love the method of watching students create models that they use throughout the course to best understand physics!

  • What is your experience with remote learning and online classes?

I absolutely LOVE the remote learning (live sessions) and online classes. In both cases, I feel that students who have the choice of coming to live sessions and online classes are self-motivated and know how to learn!

  • What advice do you have for homeschool and self study students?

Make sure you understand the material you are studying . . . don't just "go through the motions" to finish a topic/unit/assignment. The test will see if you can explain content through SKILLS! That means the skills you develop are the MOST IMPORTANT thing to learn! Knowing your content is also important so you can use the skills :)

  • For students who haven't decided whether taking this course online is worth it, what would you say to them?

YOU CAN DO THIS! Stay focused, PRACTICE (just like you would in a sport), and be ready for the big game!

  • How hard will this class be and what can students expect from the workload?
